GNCZ welcome removal of Solwezi General Hospital management

The General Nursing Council of Zambia has welcomed the removal of the entire management team at Solwezi General Hospital due to poor administration and negligence of patient care.

Council Manager Regulation and Compliance, Tom Yungana says the decision taken by Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya is designed to protect the public and ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the hospital operation.

Mr. Yungana says the Council will soon move in to check on the standards existing at Solwezi General Hospital with a view of helping the hospital provide the best care as expected by the public.

Mr Yungana has since advised Hospital managements in the country to ensure they improve service delivery to the public.

Patriotic Front (PF) Chilubi Member of Parliament Mulenga Fube has criticized  a section of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), accusing them of aligning themselves with State House for personal gain and describing them as bamushanina ubwali. UNAIDS urges stronger political pact for HIV prevention in SADC

The fight against HIV in Southern Africa has reached a defining moment. As experts and policymakers convene in Lusaka for the SADC Meeting of National AIDS Commission Directors and Sexual and Reproductive Health Programme Managers , the message ringing across the conference halls is clear “Act now, act together, and act sustainably.” The joint meeting, running under the theme “Accelerating HIV Prevention and Access to Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health Services: Tackling Inequalities and Securing a Sustainable Response,”  seeks to evaluate progress toward the 2025 HIV/TB and SRHR integration targets while setting a new course for sustainable health financing across the region.
