ZICTA fines AIRTEL,MTN & ZAMTEL K12.6 million for poor services

The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) has penalized all three (3) Mobile Network Operators for failing to adhere to the Quality of Service parameters as outlined in the Quality of Service Guidelines during the fourth quarter of 2017 and first quarter of 2018 respectively.  The three Mobile Phone Operators, Airtel Networks Zambia Plc, MTN Zambia Limited and ZAMTEL Limited have been fined a total of K12.6 million for failing to meet some of the set parameters on quality of service which collectively include Call Set Up Success Rate, Mean Opinion Score, Successful SMS Rate, SMS Delivery Time and HTTP Success log-ins, HTTP Success Rate as well as HTTP Down Rates 2G and 3G.  ZICTA Corporate Communications Manager Ngabo Nankonde says the Authority has fined MTN (Zambia) Limited K3.6 million, Airtel Networks Zambia Plc K4.2 million while ZAMTEL Limited has been fined K4.8 million. Support oil exploration, Kaputa MP

Kaputa District is a District of Zambia located in Northern Province . The capital lies at Kaputa , as of the 2000 Zambian Census, the district had a population of 87,233 people. The district also has rich deposits of uranium and other precious stones. Patriotic Front Kaputa Member of Parliament Maxas Bweupe Ng'onga confirmed the discovery to Jenalanews.blogsport in Lusaka today. The minerals were discovered following exploration expeditions by Geologists in the area. And Mr. Ng'onga has  requested the government to render support to the companies  which are carrying out oil explorations in the block that encompasses Kaputa, Chiyengi and Mporokoso districts. "I will be the saddest person if President Edgar Lungu is prosecuted on corruption case"  Potiphar Tembo reveals. His comment comes shortly after his party ,the United Party for National Development (UPND) filed a motion in parliament to impeach the Republican  President Edgar Lungu, for allegedly violating the constitution.   Former Lusaka Deputy Mayor, Potipher Tembo says although the impeachment motion may not succeed based on the numbers of MPs from the ruling, the question which beges answers is  whether or not the President committed the offences where the impeachment motion is being based on.  Mr. Tembo has since urged stakeholders not to dwell much on numbers of MPs the ruling or the opposition has when the motion comes up for debate but allow the motion to be debated in order to establish  whether  the president violated the constitution or not.
