Govt directs missions abroad to promote aspirations of the 7NDP

Government has directed Missions abroad to re-align their operations in order to promote the aspirations of the Seventh National Development Plan (7NDP). Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary for International Relations and Cooperation, Chalwe Lombe says diplomats have an important role in helping government achieve certain targets in the plan. Ambassador Lombe says President Edgar Lungu has given clear guidelines on the direction of the country’s national development. The Permanent Secretary said this today during a meeting with Diplomats at the Zambian Mission in Tokyo, Japan. Zambian boxers gaining exposure in India

TWO Zambian boxers from Oriental Quarries and Exodus Stables have successfully taken part in the India Open AIBA Elite Men and Women Tournament. Zambia Boxing Federation President Kennedy Mubita says Violet Phiri and Davy Mwale are in India as part of preparations for the Commonwealth Games slated for Australia from 4th to 15th April 2018 . Mubita says the boxers will now camp for two months at the Olympic Youth Development Centre - OYDC in Lusaka as Zambia prepares for the 5 slots that it has been given. He has since thanked Government for supporting boxing. Mubita has called on the corporate world to come on board for more sponsorship because boxing is among the Podium Performance Programme - PPP that brings medals into Zambia. HH castigates Agric sector under PF as Chanda backs E-voucher

United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has charged that Edgar Lungu has destroyed the agricultural sector in the country.   Speaking when he toured some maize fields in Chibombo district in Chief Mungule area this morning, Mr. Hichilema says Lungu and his PF have destroyed the hope of all the farmers due to poor policies and a lack of understanding of what farming is. Mr. Hichilema also took time to visit the Ministry of Agriculture fertilizer storage facility in Chief Mungule area where he found farmers receiving fertilizer. The UPND leader wondered why a serious leader would start distributing fertilizer in February as if he did not understand the calendar. Opposition new congress party leader peter chanda has urged Zambians not to sacrifice themselves for any politician in the name of politics but rather to embrace hate free speeches. Pastor Chanda has urged Zambians especially political supporters to shun political violence, saying no politician is worth fighting or dying for. He has told politicians that since power only belongs to god and no man, thus politicians should be ready to accept his plans. And pastor chanda has urged political supporters to adhere to the rule of law and stop the violence. Mr. Chanda is disturbed with the fact that the country is still recording some political violence.
