This is the luckiest Parliament ever- Nyambose

Independent Chasefu Member of Parliament Misheck Nyambose has dismissed critics of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), charging that those claiming it is not working are absentee Member of Parliament who fail to visit or monitor their constituencies.

Mr. Nyambose has argued that the current administration under President Hakainde Hichilema has demonstrated equitable leadership, ensuring that all constituencies benefit from increased funding and development support regardless of political affiliation.

He says there is no failure under President Hakainde Hichilema stressing that the President is not segregative in allocating CDF or other resources.

The Chasefu lawmaker has maintained that he has delivered in his constituency and questioned what his political challengers could offer that he has not already achieved.

“Even if people want to compete, what are they going to promise the community? I’ve delivered and I’m handing over projects to the people,” he said.

Mr. Nyambose has described the current group of lawmakers as the “luckiest Parliament in Zambia’s history,” noting that previous administrations never provided such a significant increment to the CDF.

He has urged fellow Members of Parliament to take a hands-on approach to development, saying that many project delays stem from MPs failing to monitor contractors or track project timelines.

“You need to know, as an MP, when a project is starting, when it is expected to finish, and who is doing the work. If you take interest, contractors know they are being monitored and that’s why we were given vehicles for project monitoring,” he explained.

He has stressed that with the tools and funding available, no constituency should be left behind under the current leadership.

“We should be reporting progress in this House. Real development is taking place. We are grading roads in Chasefu that have not been worked on since independence,” he said.

Looking to the future, Mr. Nyambose said ten years of President Hichilema’s leadership would transform constituencies like Chasefu, and called on Zambians to pray for the President’s good health to ensure continuity of his development agenda.

He has since urged Zambians to pray for President Hichilema’s continued good health, saying the country needs his consistent leadership to sustain economic progress and development delivery.
