Sinazongwe MP endorses HH for 2026, offers to Lead Campaign

United Party for National Development (UPND) Sinazongwe Member of Parliament, Gift Sialubalo, has endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema as the preferred candidate for the party in the 2026 general elections.

Furthermore, Mr. Sialubalo has committed to remaining as President Hichilema’s campaign manager for the upcoming election cycle.

In his endorsement, Mr.  Sialubalo has emphasized that the President has fulfilled nearly all of his campaign promises in Sinazongwe, making a compelling case for his continued leadership.

He has highlighted the transformative changes in the constituency, particularly in the rural areas where development was once scarce.

"Sinazongwe has witnessed significant change, especially in rural parts where basic infrastructure such as maternity annexes and water systems were unheard of. The President’s leadership has brought these projects to life," Mr. Sialubalo noted.

He has also pointed out major infrastructure developments, such as the ongoing work on the Batoka-Maamba Road by China-Jio, a vital route that had long been problematic.

“Ndambwa Road, which had never seen tarmac since the creation of Earth, is now receiving bituminous standards with a 13-kilometer stretch leading to the Boma,” he added.

Additionally, Sinazongwe is benefiting from the installation of communication towers and the revitalization of the Sinazeze Market, which had long been abandoned and used as a goat kraal. The market’s renovation, costing 11 million kwacha, is one of the many ways the government has improved the area’s infrastructure.

"I could go on and on about what the President has done in Sinazongwe. The Cash for Work program has benefited numerous families. What more can we ask for from such a working President, other than to say, 'Please continue?'" he said.

Mr. Sialubalo has expressed his determination to be part of the President’s success in the next elections, offering to be the campaign manager for Sinazongwe.

"I will make sure to highlight all the projects you’ve delivered, Mr. President. We are expecting more, and God’s blessings should be upon you. I will remain your campaign manager for the 2026 elections until you secure 100 percent of the vote in Sinazongwe."
