China pledges to continue supporting Zambia in mitigating epidemics

The Zambia Chinese Association has reiterated its commitment to helping the Zambian government in mitigating epidemics such as Cholera.

Association Chairman Wu Ming says the association stands ready and available for any eventualities that require community participation.

Mr. Ming says the Association actively participated in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the humanitarian and Corporate Social Responsibility between 2019 and 2021.

He further adds that the Cholera situation the country is grappling with is not a government problem alone but calls for collective responsibility from all stakeholders which include the Chinese business community which drives its workforce from communities where the disease is ravaging.

"It is therefore the desire to see to it that Cholera is fought fiercely with all the available resources both human and financial resources," He said.

Mr. Ming says the Association remains hopeful that the support it is making will assist the government in successfully fighting the disease and the fear factor in most citizens.
