Chief Monze hails Rusangu University for impacting his subject's academic standards and Christian values

Chief Monze of Southern Province has hailed Rusangu University, for the practical training and churning out graduates that have made immense contributions to the country's development.

Rusangu University is a co-educational institution of higher learning jointly owned and operated by the Northern Zambia Union Conference and the Southern Zambia Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Rusangu University has distinguished itself as one of the pioneering private Universities in Zambia registered with the Higher Education Authority (HEA). The programs on offer are accredited by different bodies, local and international.

Speaking when Rusangu University led by Vice Chancellor Dr. Dorababu Tadepalli yesterday, paid a courtesy call to His Royal Highness Chief Monze urged Rusangu University to continue with the same spirit. In honor of his contribution, Rusangu University named one of its hostels after the Chief.

During the visit, the traditional leader emphasized the value that Rusangu University has added to his chiefdom by impacting his subjects’ academic standards and Christian values. The traditional leader was particularly impressed with the educational philosophy of Rusangu University, which trains the head, hand and heart.

“I am glad that we have a university in my chiefdom. This is the biggest gift and asset because you (Rusangu University) are laying the foundation for life. Your teachings are for life, which is why my biological son pursued his studies with your university,” Chief Monze said.

In response to His Royal Highness’s statement, Dr. Tadepalli, the Vice Chancellor of Rusangu University, expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Chief and enhance the development of both the university and his chiefdom.

According to a statement issued by University Corporate Communication, Marketing, and Public Relations Manager, Lee Haamunji, the Vice-Chancellor was impressed by His Royal Highness’s wisdom in managing the affairs of the chiefdom.

Furthermore, through its Vice Chancellor, the University extended an olive branch to His Royal Highness to attend this year’s Heritage Day on October 21st to honor the remnants of the pioneers’ descendants of the Rusangu Mission.

The Vice-Chancellor says His Royal Highness, through his great-grandfather, played a fundamental role in offering land to establish the Rusangu Mission in the early 1900s.

Dr. Tadepalli says Rusangu University is proud to be under His Royal Highness’s chiefdom because the university has significantly benefited from his wisdom and how he has managed to run the chiefdom’s affairs with admiration.
