Ban political cadres in the country – Archbishop Mpundu
Former Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lusaka Telesphore Mpundu has called for the banning of political cadres in the country.
Archbishop Mpundu says anyone belonging to this group must be arrested, stating that this is an umbrella under which atrocities are committed.
He says caderism should be banned, while political parties should have members who are law abiding citizens.
Archbishop Mpundu says government must put its foot down by ensuring that anyone perpetuating political violence in the name of caderism is arrested and prosecuted before being sent to jail for a long period of time as a deterrent measure.
He has since appealed to the Zambia Police to ensure they do their work and arrest those perpetuating political violence in the country.
Archbishop Mpundu is worried that caderism is still existent in the country, hence the need to ban the practice.
