Failure to pay back the money to cost PF in 2021- Apostle Kunda
Presence of God Ministries International Senior Pastor, Apostle Christopher Kunda has charged that the ruling Patriotic Front will find it difficult to win the 2021 elections if former and serving Ministers who remained in office illegally after the dissolution of parliament 2016 fail to pay back the money.
Apostle Kunda says the people Zambia will not trust them with power, hence the need for them to pay back the money.
“I think it is an honor that the affected ministers respect the judgement because no one is above the Law. People are demanding that they [ministers] need to pay back the money, because the court has passed the judgement and it must be respected,” Apostle Kunda said.
“I appeal to the President Lungu to encourage honorable Ministers to pay back the money. Cabinet should also tell us how much money Former and Serving Ministers are owing the country.”
The senior cleric has reiterated his call on President Lungu to direct the affected Ministers to pay back the money as ordered by the Constitutional court.
Apostle Kunda says the affected Ministers should be truthful to themselves.
“It is very important for those in government to be truthful and honesty in their dealings because 2021 is coming, they will need the votes from the Zambian people, but if we can see that Ministers refusing to pay back the money, it is a problem in terms of governance, we cannot trust them with power.
Meanwhile Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) President Chingati Msiska has emphasized that the Ministers need to be truthful and pay back the money.
“There is no way we can still be talking about the issue that has been already ruled, unless they want to out rule the law. No one is above the law, let them [Ministers] pay back the money and move on.”
