Chililabombwe Patriotic Front Constituency Youth Chairman Samson Chisambo has warned that he will tolerate some people who are in a tendency of bringing confusion and promote hate speech through acts of malicious mentality in the party. Mr. Chisambo is concerned that there are some y oung people in the party who are being used to create confusion and promote hate speech through acts of malicious mentality. He has cited Ibrahim Kabwe Mwamba who he said claims to be a PF National youth executive committee member as one person who is been used to bring confusion in the party. NBA halts transiting of products suspected to be genetically modified

The National Biosafety Authority (NBA) last week halted the transiting of grains suspected to contain genetically modified organisms from a neighboring country. The Authority collected samples and subjected them to laboratory tests to ascertain whether they were genetically modified. The products are believed to be from a neighboring country which is conducting confined field trials. NBA Senior Biosafety Officer Standards and Technical Liaison Christopher Simuntala said the trucks were stopped from proceeding because the NBA wanted to subject the products to laboratory analysis. “The Clearing Agent and Border officials were asked to hold on before the products could proceed. We just want to ensure that the products are GMO free. The products have permits from other relevant authorities and there is an escort for them but we just want to be sure they are not genetically modified especially that the country where they are coming from there is research going on although...

The invasion of Fall Armyworms pose present danger to the countries staple food (Maize) if not addressed properly as the country risks being food insecure come, next year. The Army worms are spreading at a very fast rate   with 44, 322 farmers covering about 34, 000 hectares of land affected in 18 Districts out of 117 Districts countrywide. Chiengi MP proposes revision of the mining policy

Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Chiengi Member Of Parliament Given Katuta is calling on parliamentarians to revisit the country’s investment policies. Ms. Katuta says revisiting the investment policies will enhance local beneficiation especially from the mining industry charging that Zambians have been deprived of the much needed development by some investors especially in the mining sector. She stresses that Zambians have not benefited from mining companies. She has appealed to the law makers to come up with investment Laws that will compel the mines to comply with the countries regulations as opposed to laying off workers. India firm to invest US$8 million in Zambia

One of India's largest Seed Companies, Prasad Seeds Company Limited, will in the first phase spend eight million us dollars in setting up a seed research, production, processing and distribution facility.  Prasad Seeds Chairman Karumanchi Prasad says the move is an entry into Africa targeting the eight neighboring countries and beyond.  Mr. Prasad says he is convinced that Zambia is the best investment destination which has a stable political system and a strong legal framework that protects private sector investment.  He said this in Hyderabad in the Indian State of Telengana after having a final meeting with Zambia High Commission In India before starting operations in Zambia.  And Zambia's High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga has urged the company to also consider venturing into vegetable and paddy rice seeds processing because Zambia is currently importing such seeds. according to a statement made available by First Secretary P...

Charles Banda: I‘m fulfilling my campaign promises

"I Am Fulfilling My Campaign Promises" Patriotic Front Kapoche Member of Parliament Charles Banda said. Dr. Banda has indicated that he has so far witnessed the fulfillment of a number of promises he made to the electorates in the run-up to the 2016 elections. Dr. Banda says many of the pledges he made to the Kapoche electorates, prior to the August 2016 elections, were described by his political opponents as lies and impossibilities. He explains that about five clinics in Kapoche have been so far completed and that government will soon recruit health personnel's in these facilities. Among the clinics include Mulela Clinic in Kapungwe ward, Chikalaba clinic in Matambazi ward, Kondwelani clinic in Kamwaza ward, Chinzule clinic in Chingilizha ward and Champala clinic ward in Kapoche constituency.
