Mushrooming of Trade Unions in Zambia irks FFTUZ

The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) has expressed concern at the high number of Unions mushrooming across the Country.

FFTUZ President Chingati Msiska says the mushrooming of trade unions has weakened the labor movement's voice in the country.

And Mr. Msiska has advised the Trade Unions to stop fighting among themselves but concentrate on improving working conditions for the workers.

He has emphasized that what unions should strive is to ensure that they champion a labor awareness programs to advocate for improvement of working conditions and policies as well as creating knowledge about workers rights.

Mr. Msiska has reminded trade unions in the country that their main goal is to improve living standard of workers through awareness on rights for workers at workplace and through good policies and working conditions.
