Kachenga warns investors against exploiting workers
Government has been urged to preserve certain jobs in the
country for Zambians.
Youth Aid Chairperson Chungu Kachenga says this is because
the unemployment rate in Zambia is on the increase especially with the removal
of street vendors from the streets.
And Mr. Kachenga has advised government to investigate
foreigners abusing Zambian workers.
He says he is aware that some Zambians working for foreign
owned companies are working under very hostile conditions.
Mr. Kachenga says Zambians should be treated with dignity
and respect, and that any employer found abusing their employees should be sent
packing forthwith and never to be allowed back in the country.
He has noted with dismay at the irrational and inhuman treatment
Zambian employees working for foreign firms or employers has continued to
receive coupled with low wages and poor conditions of service.
Meanwhile Mr. Kachenga has threatened to drag abusive employers to
court and ensure that they protect the Zambian people.
