I’ll work for Chawama, not the other way around-Muunda
Chawama aspiring parliamentary candidate Morgan Muunda has made a bold promise to his constituents, if elected, he will bring jobs, improved infrastructure, and social services to the area, pledging a leadership style he calls “servant leadership.”
Mr. Muunda said his campaign was nearly complete, with “90 percent of the path to victory cleared,” and assured residents that he would represent them with dedication and integrity.
“I’ll toil, even work in a toilet to raise money to improve your quality of life. I’ll take every risk for you, my people. I will be your son, your father, your uncle, your nephew. We shall be one family,” Muunda said.
He has highlighted the achievements of President Hakainde Hichilema, noting the revival of industries, creation of jobs, and reduction in fertilizer costs as examples of government-led initiatives that would benefit Chawama.
“Our president sacrificed his business career to work for our country. Today, we see mines opening, industries revived, and thousands employed. I want to bring similar opportunities here in Chawama,” Muunda added.
Mr. Muunda said his plan for Chawama includes improved water supply, better drainage systems to prevent flooding, upgraded markets, and enhanced healthcare facilities.
He has emphasized youth employment, promising that young people would secure jobs in the Zambia National Service, Zambia Police, Zambia Revenue Authority, and other government ministries.
Mr. Muunda has also commended grassroots supporters, acknowledging the sacrifices made by party members who helped establish polling station management committees, campaigned in churches, and engaged in social media advocacy for the United Party for National Development (UPND).
“Your sacrifices will not be ignored. I am committed to walking with you and ensuring that your efforts translate into real development and prosperity,” he said.
He has also promised to engage local and international partners to stimulate investment, strengthen constituency development committees, and run a “speed development agenda” to improve both public infrastructure and domestic households.
“Together, we shall win. Together, we shall build a Chawama that offers opportunity, security, and prosperity for all. Jehovah God bless you, bless my party, and bless our president.”
